Summer has come and gone in Calgary (all 2wks of it!)...check out what happend when I was out of town soaking up the 36C weather in Kelowna.

Yep, the top of the pine tree in our backyard was torn off by the wind. I was told that the tip was about 10ft tall; I'm so glad it didn't hit the house. SCARY!!!!

Also, its been raining a lot lately. Goodbye Summer.

Just checked my official transcript...its official! I PASSED %$#&ing FINANCE!!!

I checked on Saturday night with the enormous support of the chat chicks (btw THANK YOU SO MUCH) but I couldn't believe it till the official mark was posted.

As some of you know, if I didn't pass this class this time around I would have been kicked out of the faculty (you are only allowed to take a core class twice). I am so relieved! I don't have the words to express how relieved I really am. I've never been so excited about a C- in my entire life!!!!

I'm on my way to graduating either in Dec 2009 or April 2010! (depending on course offerings.) I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel!!

ETA: My GPA took a hit but I'm still sitting at a 3.00 which I'm VERY happy about!

After days like this, I question my sanity.

Thanks to the ice/snow storm we had last night the hill leading down to the bus stop was nice and slick. And me being me, I had to go slip and fall on the black ice (with an audience btw). The whole right side of my body and neck aches...so much for a nice relaxing first day of FREEDOM from finals.

To top it off, I didn't have to rush to catch the bus, when I got there I was told my appointment was not at 9:10am (like she said on the phone yesterday) but at 9:30 argh....

Also got a text from my friend, exam marks are posted. I DON'T WANT TO KNOW! Ignorance is bliss at the moment. I've had enough to deal with today.

Many other things happened today I'd rather not waste you time and list...just ARGH! I need to crawl under a rock and disappear for a while.

Upside: Tomorrow's FRIDAY!!!! BRING ON THE DON WHUMP!!!!!!!!! *evil grin* Yes, I know I have a problem.

I knew this could be a problem. I am now addicted to Twitter. Ooops...
Yesterday I spent a hour and a half checking and rechecking Twitter to read updates from people I have been following and clicking on random fellow Twitter'ers (correct use of term??)

I spent WAAAY too much time playing around with the website. When I really should have been studying for my midterms (Like I should be now....)

Internet went down again this week. The SHAW repair man came, spent 20 minutes outside in the snow and -13C weather, came back inside fiddled around some more and 20 more minutes later...I'M BACK! Its tough not be pessimistic about this but I REALLY REALLY HOPE this is the last I see of them. Apparently, the line coming into the house shorted and caused all the problems we've been experiencing for the last two weeks. WHY didn't the first repair man think of that? Oh well.

ETA: Just got an invoice in the mail...they took a stink'n $7.36 off our bill this month for our troubles. REALLY? That's all? I think we deserve a month or two months worth of free service. *sigh*

Humm so I might tune in to SGU afterall...

LDP our beloved Edgerton (N3) has found a new role! He will be playing "Col. Telford, a life long military man and the chosen leader of the ill-fated expedition". And rounding out the cast Ming-Na, Robert Carlyle and many others... I have to admit, they do have a pretty promising cast.

Although I am still bitter about the cancellation of SGA; I think I may give SGU a try (one, uno, single chance.) And by that I mean I will watch the opening two-parter and decide from there. If they fail to impress, I'm done. Buh-bye.

Sheppard, McKay and the rest of the SGA crew will forever be my favourite of the SG franchise.

Almost was hit by a Russian Rocket today

So it turns out I could have been hit by a falling piece of space junk. It was heading right for us!!!

Here's an excerpt:
"Around 10:30am, the Alberta government was contacted by the federal government warning that space debris was headed to Alberta. The federal government was notified by NORAD.

Initially, the information indicated that space debris was headed for Calgary. More specific information was received a short time later indicating the debris was actually heading for an area 110 kilometers east of Calgary. "

So, I could have been hit by a piece of a Russian rocket about 10 square meters in size falling from outer space. Also...why would the gov't call at 10:30 when the estimated time of impact was 10:46? They had a total of 16 minutes to prepare a warning and get it out... WOW!! Cutting it close much?

Thankfully, they did not need to sound the alarm (they were about to activate it) when they heard it changed course when it entered the atmosphere and ended up in the Atlantic Ocean.

We definitely dodged that bullet. Or should I say rocket?

Internet cut out again tonight at 7pm. We don't do anything to it!!! We just use it!!!!

@$%#, WTF? I can't stand this anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Soon I'm going to demand for a free months worth of service!! And they better give it to me. I'm am THIS close to going to a different provider!

They are sending a senior technician tomorrow afternoon between 12-5pm (so I think they will be showing up at around 6 or 7 tomorrow). I'm starting to loose hope and faith...

Hi All!!!
So I spoke too soon, the internet repair job on Wednesday was a joke (it lasted 4 hours). I had another date with the SHAW repair guy today. He just left and I'm back on the interwebs again, for now. I hope this is the last visits from SHAW for a long time. Yeah some of them were cute but I don't want to see their blue vans outside my house for a very long time.

Apparently, it was still the signal coming into the house that was causing all the problems. When he tested it we had a minus 7 rating..it's not supposed to drop below 0 for optimal service. When he put in a booster we were up to a 14 (which is also a no, no) apparently you want to be between 0 and 7. So yeah.

Hopefully this lasts for a good long time. Also, when he boosted the signal the tv channels got SO much better.

I'm now set to watch FLASHPOINT and NUMB3RS and I have internet to chat with the chat chicks!!! TGIF. See you all tonight!!!

So the problem was not with the provider, it was us (again! We had this problem last month). They sent some guys over to fix it. It was such a quick repair job. Guys walked in, tinkered with a couple cables, walked out, and BAM! I'm back!

Let's see how long this will last...I have a feeling we will be calling them again in a month. Stupid modem, the new one was supposed to be better...can I get the old one back?

*squishes internet* I've missed you so!

Hello world! I've been so lost and bored without internet these couple of days. Our internet service went down late Friday night (some chatchicks might have noticed my technical difficulties) and it's still out. We called our service provider multiple times and they told us that they were doing maintenance on the TV (channels are snowy now) and internet lines in our area. Here's the kicker...it won't be done till Tuesday!!!! So until then I'm left bumming internet off my uncle who lives a block away (he has a different service provider), playing pirate (you know what I mean ;) ), or actually doing my required readings for school and other chores like the laundry.

I never realized how much I turn to the internet for entertainment and fact finding until this weekend. I keep trying to log on to do some research on things that come up in conversations with my friends like the definition of the word Boondoggle...hehehe.

I'm sad to say but I probably won't be able to make it to N3 Sat chat tonight. See you chatchicks next week.

I think I did poorly due to the frantic colouring in of circles on my answer sheet in the last two minutes. I probably didn't even get to look at 8 questions...so yeah. Argh. The only upside is that it's only worth 10% of my final grade. *sigh* Wish me luck.
